Immigration Detention Centres Programme

Unlike prison inmates, detainees have no idea how long they will remain incarcerated or whether they will be permitted to stay in the UK upon their release. This uncertainty, along with loss of freedom and separation from family results in a great deal of emotional strain often leading to depression and other issues.

Mentoring Programme

Regular meetings at both HMP/YOI’s and IDC’s are reinforced by a pen pal and mentoring programme, with one-on-one attention via letters and personal visitation to provide moral and emotional support but our aim is to provide more comprehensive support using our network of qualified life coaches to help former and present inmates into best fit education and/or employment.

Prisons and Young Offender Institutes Visitation Programme (UK)

As of March 2010, over 85,000 people populate UK prisons. With a re-offending rate approaching 70% there is a huge need to help motivate and equip inmates to break the cycle of crime.

Pakistan Prison Outreach

Missionary Services of Pakistan, headed up by Pastor and Mrs Yaqoob Ilyas, is our partner in Lahore, Pakistan. Their core project focusses on the needs of Christian inmates in five prisons in the region, including a women's prison. During their fortnightly visits Pastor Yaqoob and his team teach from the Bible and offer prayer and counsel to the inmates. Besides providing valuable emotional and spiritual support to inmates, MSP also works to help the families of those incarcerated in whatever ways they can, material and otherwise.
