About Us

An opportunity to get know our trustees and programme managers...

Nilesh Patel

Trustee/Treasurer

A hotel owner by trade, Nilesh has long had a desire to see people in difficult circumstances get the help they need. A very active trustee and fundraiser for Touchstone’s existing projects, he has a particular interest in our projects in Africa and wants to start a home for abandoned elderly people in his ancestral state of Gujarat, India

Paul Rushton

Trustee/Programme Manager

Many years spent as a teacher and volunteer in India/Southeast Asia have made Paul well-suited to Touchstone’s outreach in prisons, young offender institutes and immigration detention centres here in the UK. His gifts in the areas of music and drama come to the fore in his work.

Antonia Jenkins

Secretary/Programme Manager

Antonia spent many years establishing and successfully managing humanitarian projects in Asia and the Middle East. She prefers the hands-on role of project manager, which allows her to help the needy and vulnerable directly. Her past experience in prison work and managing volunteers, along with her recent studies in life coaching, have enabled her to spearhead a pilot mentoring program with young offenders, which has produced encouraging results.

Simon Bennett

Programme Manager

Simon is the founder and has been the pillar of Touchstone Projects for many years. He started the prison outreach that grew into Touchstone Projects over 12 years ago and is still the driving force behind our projects in Pakistan. He has recently moved to South Africa where he is developing various programmes to improve the lives of less advantaged people in that part of the world.
